AUBURN — The Hall-Dale High School boys team won the Mountain Valley Conference championship Wednesday, avenging its only loss of the season with a 3-2 win against top-seeded St. Dominic.

The Bulldogs (12-1) lost 3-2 to St. Dom’s earlier this season with No. 1 singles player Spencer Shagoury losing a narrow three-set match to St. Dom’s Zach DeBlois.  Wednesday, Shagoury turned the tables on DeBlois with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. The Saints won the second and third singles matches but Hall-Dale’s doubles teams each came through with victories. Nicholas Bates and Bryson Camp defeated Jon Hudson and Clifford Greco, 7-5, 6-3, at first doubles followed by a 6-2, 6-4 win by  Ryan Branscom and Andrew Peterson over  Chris Laverdiere and Jeffrey Ahlqiust at second doubles
 
Baseball

Cony 13, Edward Little 3, 5 inn.:
  Freshman Reid Shostak drove in six runs, including five in the fourth inning, to lead the Rams to the KVAC Class A win i Auburn.

Shostak doubled and tripled in Cony’s nine-run fourth inning and added an RBI double. Zack Lachance doubled twice and singled for the Rams while Thomas Foster and Keith Cloutier each had a pair of hits. Mitchell Caron picked up the pitching win for Cony (9-4).

Nate Pushard singled and doubled for Edward Little (5-8).

Bangor 6, Messalonskee 3: Justin Courtney had a home run and pitched a complete game as the Rams beat the Eagles in a KVAC A game in Oakland.

Carl Farnham added a double and a single, while Tyler Laplante had two singles for Bangor (10-4).
Zach Mathieu had a home run and a single for Messalonskee (10-4).

Oak Hill 7, Madison 0: Dalton Therrien had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs and Jared Glazier pitched a complete game shutout as the Raiders beat the Bulldogs in an MVC game in Madison.

Parker Asselin added a double and an RBI, while Jonah Martin had a triple and scored a run for Oak Hill (7-6). Glazier allowed two hits, struck out two and walked two to earn the win.

Madison falls to 6-9.

Oxford Hills 10. Erskine 1: Nick Bowie drove in six runs with a grand slam and a two-run double to lead the Vikings to the KVAC Class A win in South China. Walter Feeney went the distance for Oxford Hills (12-1), allowing five hits while striking out six and walking three. Nick Gayer doubled for Erskine (4-10).

Boys lacrosse

Messalonskee 10, Edward Little 6: Josh Towle, Ben Weeks and Josh Yannelli each had two goals to lead the Eagles to the Eastern A victory in Auburn.

Jordan Holmes had four assists while AIdan Calkins added a goal and an assist. James Varney and Connor Leonard also scored while Jake Smith had 13 saves for the Eagles (6-4).

Corey Morin had five goals to lead EL (4-7).

Maranacook/Winthrop 14, Mt. Blue 1:
Jesse Evans had two goals and four assists as the Hawks beat the Cougars in a KVAC A game in Farmington.

Zach Glazier added three goals, while Dan Condon and Zach Godbout each had two for Maranacook/Winthrop (8-2). Toby Smith added a goal and two assists, while Alex Tooth had a goal and an assist. Denver Cram, James Canwell and Ben McLaughlin all added one goal. Zach Bessette had three saves to earn the win.

Ryan Rouilliard scored from Sam Taylor for Mt. Blue (1-9). Dakota Williams had six saves.
