OAKLAND — Aidan Calkins and Jordon Holmes both scored two goals as the Messalonskee boys lacrosse team beat Lewiston 8-7 in a Ken-nebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Friday.

Josh Towle, Ben Weeks, Connor Leonard and Josh Yannelli also scored for Messalonskee (7-4).

Leonard and Weeks also had an assist each, while Jake Smith finished with nine saves.

Tanner Hubbard had three goals for Lewiston (8-3).


Maranacook 3, MCI 2, 5 innings: Zach Elwell hit into a fielder’s choice, which allowed the game-winning run to score in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Black Bears beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Readfield.

Carson Dalheim had two singles and Cameron Brochu two RBIs for Maranacook (8-7).

Cameron Michaud struck out four and walked five for MCI (1-12).
