AUGUSTA — Viles Arboretum will hold the grand opening of its outdoor sculpture art trail from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the arboretum, 153 Hospital St.
More than 15 nature-themed sculptures by 12 regionally and nationally recognized artists will be represented. Attendees will meet the artists, view the art and learn more about the arboretum’s Sculpture and Nature Project.
There will be formal remarks at 2:30 p.m., along with music, food and refreshments. Guided tours of the art trail will also be offered.
Artists are Adam L. Wiedman of Portland; Jesse Salisbury of Steuben; Hugh Lassen and David Sywalski, both of Cherryfield; Robert Lash of Gardiner; Mark Herrington of Franklin; Paul Kozak of Hulls Cove; Roy Patterson of Gray; Digby Veevers-Carter of West Bath; Jordan Smith of Pownal; Robert Katz of Hallowell; William Royall of Southport; Dan Ucci of East Pittston; and Andreas von Huene of Arrowsic.
