Syrup rampage portends sticky legal woes

RANGELEY PLANTATION — Police are considering charges against a woman accused of breaking into her ex-husband’s camp Wednesday, burning his clothes in a stove at the campsite and pouring maple syrup all over the property, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department weekly report.

Deputies are considering charging the woman with criminal mischief, pending investigation.

Bicycle hits vehicle; cyclist goes to hospital

WATERVILLE — A cyclist was taken to Inland Hospital Saturday morning after his bicycle struck the side of a turning vehicle on Kennedy Memorial Drive.

Josh York, 24, of Waterville, was riding the bicycle east around 11:30 a.m. when he possibly ran a red light and hit a vehicle driven by Richard Fredette, 40, of South Attleboro, Mass., according to Sgt. Lincoln Ryder of the Waterville Police Department.

Ryder said York told police he had leg pain, and he was taken by ambulance to Inland Hospital.

IN WATERVILLE, Friday at 11:08 a.m., threatening was reported at Lakewood Manor Nursing Home on Kennedy Memorial Drive.

1:28 p.m., harassment was reported on Water Street.

IN SOMERSET COUNTY, Saturday at 10:40 a.m., Craig Hubert Hartley, 36, of Hartland, was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear.

11:51 a.m., John Martins, 38, of Madison, was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear.

6:44 p.m., Tyler Scott Ames, 28, of Norridgwock, was arrested on the charges of domestic violence, refusing to submit to arrest and possession of marijuana.

8:45 p.m., Thomas Milton, 26, of Cornville, was arrested on a warrant for unpaid fines or fees.

9:05 p.m., Daniel Paul Post, 52, of Norridgewock, was arrested on a probation hold.

9:16 p.m., Randy Evan Burnell, 31, of Jay, was arrested on a warrant for unlawful use of bait in artificial-lure-only water.

IN WATERVILLE, Friday at 1:27 p.m., Richard Poulin, 38, of Fairfield, was arrested on four warrants.

Saturday at 12:44 a.m., Nicholas Curato, 22, of Waterville, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence.
