SKOWHEGAN — Benjamin Doty, of East Madison, has been hired as a part-time museum assistant at the Skowhegan History House Museum & Research Center.
Doty is a 2007 graduate of Skowhegan Area High School and in 2011 graduated sum cum laude from the University of Maine with a bachelor of arts degree in English/political science. He also has earned a master of arts with distinction from Birkbeck, University of London in 2012 focusing on modern and contemporary literature.
Doty will work on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. He will provide patron tours of the museum and research center, assisting researchers, working with volunteers, and conducting archival projects including cataloging the hundreds of photographs in the collection.
Skowhegan History House & Research Center is at 66 Elm St., and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; www.skowheganhistoryhouse.org.
