AUGUSTA — Three people were arrested Wednesday afternoon after drug enforcement agents and police from several agencies stopped a car on Community Drive.

The arrests occurred around 3:45 p.m. after law enforcement vehicles converged on a black Honda Accord on Community Drive near the Civic Center Drive intersection.

Three people were removed from the car, which had Pennsylvania plates, and handcuffed.The trio, two men and a woman, all appearing to be in their 20s, remained handcuffed as they spoke to police for about 30 minutes. The Accord was towed after the men and woman were taken away in separate police vehicles.

Agents also searched a room at a nearby motel at the same time as the arrest.

MDEA Commander Darrell Crandall said more information will be released Thursday.
