HINCKLEY — L.C. Bates Museum has planned the following summer events:

* Summer Art Programs, 1 p.m. Wednesdays, June 26, July 10, 17, 24 and 31, and Aug. 7 and 14. Each art programs is themed differently and a few special visiting artists. Be inspired to create art about nature; additional materials fee of $2 for participants.

* Summer History Programs are set for 1 p.m. Thursdays, today, July 11, 18, 25, and Aug. 1 and 8. There will be hands-on history program. Participants can play with toys, try on clothes and try out some tools.

* Focus on Frogs will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6. Participants can learn about frog species in our state, catch a few frogs and discover about amphibian life.

* Central Maine Plays is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Fairfield Grange. David Richards will speak on Milton Bradley’s games.

* Watercolors in the Bird Room will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Those interested can explore the birds with eyes of an artist and make a painting to bring home.

* Eight central Maine museums, including the L.C. Bates Museum, are creating summer Central Maine Plays exhibitions and/or programs. The exhibits are designed to take a look back into leisure time activities and recreation. The L.C. Bates exhibition includes photographs and toys and sports equipment used by the Good Will children.

Museum hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 1-4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission cost $3 for adults and $1 for children younger than 18.
