PITTSFIELD — As part of the Pittsfield Public Library’s Dig Into Reading program, L.C. Bates Museum will present “Fascinating Fossils,” for all ages, at 1:30 p.m. July 11 in the library’s Warren Community Room. Participants can learn how fossils form and examine the museum’s fossil collection, including Maine state fossils and dinosaurs.

Dig into Reading with the 2013 Scholastic Summer Challenge participants can take part in challenges, earn digital rewards and enter sweepstakes. For more information, contact the library at 487-5880.

Also, the summer story time for children infant through age 6 takes place at 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays in the children’s area.
