FARMINGTON — A Chesterville man was arrested on a charge of gross sexual assault today, police said.
Jason Bergeron, 36, was charged with sexually assaulting a girl younger than 15 years old, according to a news release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Bergeron’s arrest was based on a report by the parents of a friend of the girl, Lt. David St. Laurent said.
Bergeron is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bail. Gross sexual assault is a class A crime.
The reported crime is still being investigated by the department. Additional information was not available Tuesday.
