AUGUSTA — “Run for the Trees” — a cross country race through the fields and forests of Viles Arboretum — will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
Walkers are also welcome. Day care with nature activities for children will be provided.
Registration costs $25 for the 5k or $30 the day of the event and $10 for the 5k walk. Online registration is available at www.runreg.com.
Following the run, smoked maple chicken will be served. The cost is $15. A vegetarian meal — smoked corn chowder, baked potato and coleslaw — will be available for $10. Meals cost $5 for children 12 and younger.
There will be music and prizes for leading times in various categories.
