PALERMO — The Living Communities Foundation will host an open garden party starting at 3 p.m. Sunday, and continuing Monday, at the Palermo Community Garden, Veterans Way.

There will be garden tours and tastings, a potluck barbecue, and music and games, including a contest for children. Fire-eaters from the University of Maine at Augusta will entertain. Master Gardener Connie Bellet will answer gardening questions.

Participants are welcome to tent in the back yard of the garden. In case of inclement weather, a movie about agriculture and nutrition will be shown in the center’s downstairs screening room. The garden provides fresh, organic food to the Palermo Food Pantry and members of the community.
