Gov. Paul LePage appears to lack the ability to assess whether he should say something aloud just because it pops into his head. That skill is a basic sign of maturity and empathy, which LePage apparently lacks.
His recent racist comment about the president is not merely an embarrassment, not only a “there he goes again” moment. It shows, at best, a lack of basic critical thinking skills, or, at worst, a deep-seated racism on LePage’s part.
The governor is supposed to represent all Mainers, even those of us who disagree with him and did not vote for him. I am horrified that people around the country actually may believe that LePage represents Maine.
