FARMINGDALE — Two students have been named to the third trimester honor roll list for the 2012-13 school year at Hall-Dale Middle School. They are Abigail Guyon, a sixth-grader, and Cody Guyon, an eighth-grader. Each received cum laude honors.

WATERVILLE — Two local students, Audrey Fredericks of China and Jennifer Marlowe of Gardiner, have been named to the Thomas College dean’s list for the 2013 continuing education division summer II semester.

Both are majoring in business administration.

Kobayashi named

cadet fourth class

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Air Force Cadet Kojiro Kobayashi has completed basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Kobayashi completed a six-week orientation program that prepares cadets to enter their first academic year at the academy. Phases consisted of military and physical preparation, field training and more.

Kobayashi has been given the rank of cadet fourth class. He is the son of Betsy and Naoto Kobayashi of Manchester and a 2012 of Maranacook Community High School, Readfield.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army Pvt. Jacie C. Twist has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Twist studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Twist is the daughter of Donna and David Twist and sister of Joel Twist, all of Gardiner. She is a 2011 graduate of Gardiner Area High School.
