WATERVILLE — The Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville recently announced the organization has been awarded a three-year 1:2 matching fund from the Unity Foundation.

The Unity Foundation is dedicated to supporting sustainable, mission-driven nonprofits through capacity-building initiatives, programmatic grantmaking and nonprofit management education.

The organization’s proposal was based on its recently implemented three-year Strategic Business Plan which focuses on strengthening leadership, management and fundraising to assure that they remain an enduring and sustainable part of Greater Waterville. This 1:2 matching grant will allow the Development Department to more deeply engage new community support through fresh and innovative methods. The organization will also be able to build its overall communication into a unified brand strategy that leverages social media and web presence — by developing and implementing a total overhaul of its communications, brand messaging and online visibility. The results of this capacity-building grant will support the sustainability of the organization through increased public awareness and subsequent revenue.
