An incident reported as an attempted armed robbery on Boothby Street in Augusta resulted in one person being shot, city police said today, correcting information released after the incident Monday.

The shooting victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said in a news release.

The robbery attempt occurred at 12:38 p.m. Monday, police said, adding that the victim was uncooperative and did not want to pursue charges at the time of the call.

Police searched for a man described as wearing a black sweatshirt and gray pants and being of Hispanic origin but did not find him.

Police declined to release further information about the case, citing the ongoing investigation.
