OAKLAND — The Oakland Recreation Department has planned its annual fall foliage trip for Thursday, Oct. 3. Participants will meet in the rear parking lot next to the Baptist church on Church Street. The group will leave at 8:30 a.m. and plans to return by 3:30 p.m.

The trip will take participants through the western Maine mountains, offering views and color during the foliage season. A stop is planned in Rangeley for lunch at Red Onion Restaurant. Participants can order from the regular menu and are responsible for the cost of their lunch.

The trip is free to residents and $2 for non-residents.

Registrations will be taken on a first-come first-served basis and can be made by calling the Town Office at 465-7357.
