A Massachusetts man was arrested Saturday morning in Skowhegan after allegedly attacking a police officer who was arresting him.

Ramafola Solomon Khoto, 28, of Dracut, Mass., was arrested on charges of burglary and refusing to submit to arrest after the fight at the homeless shelter.

Skowhegan Police Chief Edward Blais said that an officer, whose name wasn’t released, had to go to the hospital and was treated for a cut on his foreheard.

Blais said that Khoto is originally from South Africa and had been staying at the Skowhegan homeless shelter.
