What happens when you mix Catherine Coulter, a best-selling author of FBI procedurals, and J.T. Ellison, an award-winning writer of chilling thrillers involving a female detective battling serial killers? You get “The Final Cut,” an exciting page turner about an international jewel theft.

Nicholas Drummond works for Scotland Yard. He uses unorthodox methods to achieve results. A colleague, Elaine York, has taken an assignment in New York. The British crown jewels, including the Koh-i-Noor Diamond, will be on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and York needs to insure that the jewels are safe.

When York dies under circumstances that make it appear that she is an accomplice of a master criminal known as the Fox, Drummond teams up with FBI special agent Michaela (Mike) Caine to investigate.
The twists to the story are nonstop, and the characters sparkle like precious stones. Fans of Coulter’s FBI series will be excited to see that her married team of special agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock play a key role in the story.

The elements are in place in “The Final Cut” for a standard by-the-numbers story that should merely entertain. However, as the expected becomes the unexpected, Coulter and Ellison deliver a book that’s sure to be one of the best thrillers of the year.
