A Leeds native is opening a chiropractic practice in Monmouth this month following her graduation from Northwestern Health Science University earlier this year.

Amanda Angell announced the Oct. 15 opening of Guardian Chiropractic at 6 Blue Road in Monmouth, the former location of David Varney’s office, according to a news release sent Thursday.

Angell grew up in Leeds and graduated from Leavitt Area High School in 2004, according to the release. She graduated from the University of Maine in 2008 with a bachelor of arts degree in biology. She later graduated from Northwestern in 2013.

Angell is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and is being initiated into the Maine Chiropractic Association on Oct. 18, according to the release.

She’ll offer free scoliosis checks and sports physicals for any child at any time. Initial consultations and exams are free if scheduled by Nov. 15.
