BARRINGTON, N.H. — A New Hampshire man is grateful to be alive after his boat capsized in Barrington and he became tangled in his fishing gear.

Sixty-eight-year-old Steven Travis of Nottingham was out on Stone House Pond on Thursday when his boat started taking on water.

Kellie Barr Foster, who was rock climbing nearby, heard Travis yelling for help and jumped in to help him. She was able to pull him to shore.

She tells WMUR-TV she was able to hold his head up and swim back with him and his equipment. Then she called 911.
