There seems to be some early confusion regarding the Nov. 5 Augusta election.
Many people do not yet realize that the election for councilor at-large is one of those unusual vote-for-two situations that can occur every three years as mandated by the city charter.
Councilors Cecil Munson and Daniel Emery’s terms are ending. Munson seeks re-election; Emery does not.
In 2010, the last time the vote-for-two situation occurred, there were only two candidates. There was no real race since both would win.
This year, however, there are multiple candidates.
As chairwoman of the re-elect Cecil Munson campaign, I urge Augusta residents to use one of their two votes for my friend Munson. Then they can vote for another candidate, too.
