I was recently driving by North Elementary in Skowhegan, when I noticed that young children were playing outside in the rain without any rain gear on to protect them.
I don’t have any kids attending that school, but I wondered if the parents of these young children knew about this? I couldn’t imagine that child having to spend the rest of the school day in damp clothes.
It wasn’t downpouring, but raining steady enough that the kids shouldn’t have been outside. When it did downpour, they did bring them inside — a little too late, I thought.
I already voiced my concern to the superintendent’s office and hope parents do the same.
