I am writing in support of Mary Mayo-Wescott, candidate for at-large councilor for the city of Augusta.

I first met Mary in 2006, shortly after she had founded The Friends of the Flatiron Building, for the purpose of saving, preserving and finding the highest and best use for this historic treasure.

I worked closely with Mary to obtain tax-exempt status for the organization, and we have been friends ever since. I have had the opportunity to work with Mary over the years and have been most impressed with her commitment and perseverance. She is forward thinking, hardworking and well organized.

Mary is an experienced and proven leader and believes that there has to be a fair balance between economic growth and the residential taxpayers. Please join me in voting for Mary on Nov. 5.
