READFIELD — Maranacook went 4 for 4 in penalty kicks to earn a 2-1 win over Traip in a Western Maine Class C girls soccer quarterfinal game Friday.

Sarah Clough, Lillie McLaughlin, Jenna Elwell and Lindsey Perkins all made their penalty kicks for No. 6 Maranacook, which improves to 6-5-4 and advances to play No. 3 Hall-Dale on Tuesday.

Alli Barrettt, Elora McCuddy and Emily Hartley made their penalty kicks for Traip (5-10-0). Maranacook goalie Liz D’Angelo made one save and the Rebels missed one penalty kick.

Traip took a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the game when Emily Hartley scored. Clough scored with 5:30 left in the half to tie it for Maranacook.

Winslow 2, Erskine 1: Calli Lavarnway scored from 18 yards out with four minutes left in regulation as the Black Raiders won an Eastern B prelim in Winslow.

No. 7 Winslow improved to 9-5-1. No. 10 Erskine finished 7-7-1.

Lavarnway opened the scoring about nine minutes into the game to give Winslow a 1-0 lead.
It stayed that way until six minutes into the second half, when Taylor Boucher scored to pull Erskine even.

Winslow will next play at No. 2 Hermon in a quarterfinal game Tuesday.

Oceanside 4, Gardiner 0: Makenna Brooks scored three goals and assisted on another as the fourth-seeded Mariners (11-3-1) scored four times in the final 38 minutes to pull away in an Eastern Class B prelim in Rockland.

Emily Gould opened the scoring for the Mariners 2:05 into the second half . Kaylyn Grover made two saves.

Ally Day and Lauren Chadwick combined for 16 saves for Gardiner (3-10-2).
