WATERVILLE — The Thomas College men’s soccer team rebounded from Saturday’s overtime loss to take a 5-1 win over Green Mountain College on Sunday.

Michael Hand scored two goals for Thomas, which led 3-0 at the half. Joakim Sternas made two saves for his first win in goal for the Terriers. Mikkail Crockwell and Shaquille Trott each faced one shot and had one save for Thomas.

Matt Kukola made 11 saves for Green Mountain.

Castleton 2, UMF 0: John Kendall and Spencer Dandurand each scored to lift the Spartans to the NAC win in Farmington.

Nate Koenemann made one save for the Castleton (12-3-2, 7-1-1 NAC) shutout. Derek Reilly made four saves for UMF (4-12-1, 2-6-1).

Thomas 3, Green Mountain 0: Elizabeth Anderson had a goal and an assist to lead the Terriers to the North Atlantic Conference win on Sunday.

Lindsy Hoopingarner and Jenn Day also scored for Thomas (4-12, 2-7 NAC). Kate Thibodeau made two saves for the shutout.

Amber Heath made eight saves for Green Mountain (5-11, 2-7).

UMF 1, Castleton 1: The Beavers and Spartans entered Sunday’s game tied for second place in the North Atlantic Conference, and nothing was decided on the field.

Renee Dupre scored in the 22nd minute to give UMF (8-6-3, 7-1-1) a 1-0 lead. Castleton (11-7-1, 7-1-1) tied the game on a Mallory Costello goal in the 54th minute.

Beth Lebel and Amy Jones combined for seven saves for the Beavers. Jessica Binkowski made seven saves for the Spartans.

Field hockey

Thomas 3, Lasell 2: Brittany Premo scored the game-winning goal, lifting the Terriers to the NAC win in Waterville.

Lauren Hachey and Michelle Greene also scored for Thomas (7-9, 4-5 NAC). Senior goalkeepers Sofia Sourgiadakis and Jasmine Bishop combined for ten saves on 12 shots for the Terriers.
Taylor Sheehan had nine saves for Lasell (10-9, 4-5).

Cal 2, Maine 1: Lara Kruggel scored the game-winning goal to lift Cal past Maine in Boston on Sunday.

Annabelle Hamilton scored her team-leading 10th goal to give Maine (9-8) a 1-0 lead, but Cal (6-10) tied the game just over a minute later on a Nicole Ballstedt goal.

Natasha Ford made four saves for Maine. Courtney Hendrickson made nine stops for Cal.
