On Election Day, I will be voting for George Lapointe for the at-large City Council seat in Hallowell. I have known George and his family for 15 years, and know he will be an excellent city councilor.

For three years, George was president of the church my family belongs to. He proved himself to be an effective leader by skillfully communicating and working with folks of all ages and backgrounds, and by helping the church make hard decisions and get things done. I am continually impressed by George’s straightforward approach to solving problems, and his ability to see the big picture.

George Lapointe’s leadership as commissioner of the Department of Marine Resources for the state of Maine under two different governors speaks to his vast knowledge about how local and state governments function. That experience, as well as his love for and commitment to Hallowell, will serve our citizens well.
