Some letters have been published about the purposed purchase of The Cabins at China Lake. Most of these have been negative, and mostly are about increased taxes. Let’s be clear: Taxes will increase regardless of whether the property is purchased.

It’s been said that all the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today. Purchasing The Cabins property could be the seed that will blossom into something beautiful for our children, grandchildren and generations to come.

If that beautiful property setting gets into hands of developers, think about all the negative possibilities and great harm that might happen in their hands. The voters must choose.

Let’s not be just focused on the short range but also the long-range benefits for our future generations.

Everyone must vote their conscience, but I urge them to vote.
