BANGOR — Utility crews are working to restore power to more than 4,000 Maine customers whose service was knocked out during high winds.

The winds brought down power lines and tree limbs starting on Friday morning across the Bangor Hydro service area.

Crews expect it will take until Saturday morning to have all the power restored.

Another 1,800 Maine Public Service customers in the Ashland area also were affected by the outages but the service has since been restored.
