CASTLETON, Vt. — Castleton State scored two first-half goals and held on to beat the University of Maine at Farmington 3-2 in a North Atlantic Conference women’s soccer tournament semifinal game Tuesday night.

Mallory Costello and Dominique Valancius scored in the first half for Castleton, which improevs to 12-7-1 and will play for the conference title against Colby Sawyer on Saturday. UMF ends the season 9-7-3.

UMF got within a goal when Waterville graduate Kayla Tuttle scored in the second half. Castleton regained a two-goal lead when Costello set up Valnacius for a goal. Ava Amador brough UMF within one again when she finished off a volley from Katie Clark.

Jessica Binkowski made two saves for Castleton, while Beth Lebel and Amy Jones combined for three saves for UMF.
