The Kennebec County Soil and Water Conservation District, headquartered in Augusta, is holding voting this month for two spots on its board.

Two candidates are running unopposed for two seats. Clif Buuck, of Readfield, is running for a one-year term through 2014’s end, while Gary Wheeler, of Augusta, is running for a two-year term running through 2015. Write-in candidates are still eligible, and voting runs through Nov. 28.

Any registered voter in the county can vote, and a ballot can be requested by calling the district at 622-7847, ext. 3 and asking for Dale Finseth, the district’s executive director.

According to the district’s website, the five-person volunteer board sets priorities for the district and directs its staff.
