Couple arrested after downtown Hallowell disturbance, alleged officer-shoving

HALLOWELL — A young area couple, including a former Cony High School baseball standout, were arrested after an altercation outside a bar early Sunday morning, police said.

Hallowell police responded to a report of intoxicated people near Higher Grounds, a bar at 119 Water St., at 12:11 a.m. Sunday. Eric Nason, the city’s police chief, said Miranda Savage, 21, of Manchester, had been kicked out of the bar for being disorderly.

But “unfortunately, she kept the party going on outside” and was yelling a lot, Nason said.

While Officer Kristal Clark was arresting Savage on a disorderly conduct charge, Nason said Savage’s boyfriend, Charles Partridge, 22, of Augusta, pushed Clark, leading to his arrest on charges of assault and obstruction of government administration.

Partridge, a 2010 Cony graduate, made the Maine Sunday Telegram’s all-state baseball team his senior year and went on to play baseball at the University of Southern Maine.
