As Sen. Susan Collins’ state office representative in her Augusta Constituent Service Center, I know that one of the senator’s top priorities is to provide first-rate constituent service. I was disappointed to read a recent letter outlining one constituent’s dissatisfaction with her discussion with a caseworker in our office. A major purpose of this office is to help resolve difficulties that Mainers may face with regard to a federal agency, but neither the senator nor her staff can solve the frustrating problems with Obamacare and its website.

On a daily basis, we do successfully assist dozens of Mainers with a variety of issues, and we are proud of the assistance we have been able to provide. Our goal is to help ensure that every individual who seeks help from Collins has a positive experience, and I am truly sorry that we were unable to assist this constituent in enrolling for health insurance under the new law.
