BANGOR —Damon Lynn scored 24 points as the New Jersey Institute of Technology beat the University of Maine 88-82 in a men’s basketball game at the Cross Insurance Center on Tuesday.

Nigel Syndor added 13 points, while Terrence Smith had 12 points and 10 rebounds for NJIT (3-2).

Dimitry Coronel had 29 points to lead all scorers for Maine (1-3). Zarko Valjarevic added 14 and Shawn Lawton 12 for the Black Bears.

COLBY 69, UM-FARMINGTON 58: Ryan Jann scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Mules past the University of Maine at Farmington in non-conference action in Waterville. Luke Westerman and Chris Hudnut added 13 points apiece for Colby (2-1). Andrew Dickey led UMF (1-2) with 24 points while Maranacook graduate Ben Johnson scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UM-AUGUSTA 72, THOMAS 63: Jennifer Lola had 24 points and Jamie Plummer had 20 points and 23 rebounds as the Moose beat the Terriers in Waterville.

Arreonte Lee added 10 points and 13 rebounds for UMA (5-1), while Courtney Jicks had 16 points.

Elizabeth Goodall and Lexi Merrifield each had 13 points for Thomas (0-4).
