A tree fell onto a utility pole on Troy Road, causing more than 1,000 customers to lose power Wednesday morning in Dixmont, Plymouth, Troy and Unity, according to Central Maine Power.
The broken utility pole and its corresponding electrical wires closed Troy Road at 10:30 a.m., according to CMP spokeswoman Gail Rice. Poor weather conditions, including heavy rain and high wind, appeared to be the cause, she said.
About 1,250 people were left without power. At the scene Wednesday afternoon, crews from CMP, Unitel and Time Warner were repairing the downed wires.
Power was restored to those who lost it in those four towns by 1:45 p.m., Rice said.
