WATERVILLE — Morgan Cahill scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds —both game highs — to lead the St. Joseph’s College women’s basketball team past Colby 67-63 in a nonconference game Thursday night.

Cahill shot 8-for-11 from free throw line and grabbed eight offensive rebounds for the Monks (5-2).

Desi Smith had 14 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Mules (3-5).

Augusta native Mackenzie Dufour made two late free throws to seal the victory. he finished with seven points. The Monks also received a big game from Abby Young, who added 15 points and six rebounds.

Mia Diplock had 12 points and three assists for the Mules.

Bates 88, Colby 76: Graham Safford scored 26 points and Adam Philpott added 15 to lead the Bobcats to the New England Small College Athletic Conference victory in Waterville.

Mike Boornazian scored 13 points and Billy Selmon added 12 for Bates (6-1) as well. Safford also had nine assists, five rebounds and two steals. He shot 10-for-20 from the field.

Patrick Stewart scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to pace Colby (4-2). Chris Hudnut scored 16 points and Ryan Jann added 14 for the Mules as well.

Maine Maritime 82, UMA 74: Tyler CHiasson scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead host MMA in Smith Gymnasium. Tyler Gilson and Zach Radcliffe each scored 11 points for the Mariners (1-5). Gilson grabbed nine rebounds as well.

Brandon Rogers led UMA (1-11) with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Garrett Alley added 15 points. Jesse Smith chipped in with 14 points for the Moose as well.
