TOPSHAM — Kelsey Mayo had 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Messalonskee girls basketball team won 45-31 in its opener over Mt. Ararat on Friday night.

Kassi Michaud added 2 points, while Mikayla Turner grabbed six rebounds for Messalonskee.

Lindsey Cornelison had 12 points for Mt. Ararat.

Lawrence 37, Skowhegan 30: Paige Belanger had 12 points as the Bulldogs won their season opener in Fairfield.

Nia Irving added 10 points, while Dominique Lewis had nine for Lawrence.

Taylor Johnson had 10 points and Andrea Quirion had nine points for Skowhegan.

Valley 26, Buckfield 22: Teagan Lawyerson scored seven points to lead the Cavaliers to an East-West win over the Bucks in Bingham.

Dalayne Davis scored six points, while Hallie Miller added five points for Valley (1-0).

Gabby Themault led Buckfield (0-1) with seven points.

Rangeley 50, Richmond 30: Tori Letarte had 19 points and six steals as the Lakers beat the Bobcats in the East/West Conference season-opener for both teams in Rangeley.

Taylor Esty added 16 points and six rebounds, while Blayke Morin had 13 points and seven rebounds for Rangeley.

Kelsea Anair had six points for Richmond.

Forest Hills 67, Vinalhaven 39: Anna Carrier had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Tigers beat the Vikings in the season opener for both teams in Jackman.

Kori Coro added 13 points and seven steals for Forest Hills and Dana McNally had 12 assists.

Mountain Valley 45, Mt. Abram 13: Sydney Petrie scored 15 points to lead the Falcons to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Salem.

Liza White added eight points for Mountain Valley (1-0).

Brooke Millbury led Mt. Abram (0-1) with four points.

WINSLOW 32, MCI 29: Heather Kervin scored a team-high 11 points and Devin Fitzsimmons added eight to lead the Black Raiders to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B victory. Alyssa Wood scored four points for Winslow (1-0) as well.

Brianna Losee scored 10 points and Ashley Alton added nine for the Huskies (0-1).

CAMDEN HILLS 44, WATERVILLE 43: Maddie Bowman scored 15 points and Becca Hilt added 10 to lead the Windjammers to the KVAC B victory.

Charlotte Messer also scored 10 points for Camden (1-0).

Jordan Jabar scored 17 points and Colleen O’Donnell added 11 to pace Waterville (0-1).

Carrabec 55, Wiscasset 42: Emma Plunte had 11 points as the Cobras held on to beat the Wolverines in an MVC game in Wiscasset.

Hanna Atwood and Mickayla Willette each had 10 points for Carrabec.

Briana GOud had 15 points for Wiscasset.
