NEWPORT — Owen Brown scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Waterville Senior High School boys basketball team to an 81-61 win over Nokomis in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Thursday night.

Jason Jabar added 23 points and five assists for Waterville (2-1) while Chris Hale scored 17 points.

Nokomis (0-2) was led by Jacob Winslow with 21 points and Andrew Cartwright with 20.

Forest Hills 72, Pine Tree 37: The Tigers led 23-2 after one quarter and cruised to the Class D win in Jackman.

Ryan Petrin led Forest Hills (4-0) with 16 points. Brandon Ouellette made three 3-pointers and had 13 points for the Tigers.

JP Tshamala led Pine Tree (2-1) with 17 points.

Oceanside 83, Winslow 76: Isaiah Stone-Patterson scored 24 points to lead the Mariners to the KVAC B win in Winslow.

David Gould added 17 points and Nick Judge 13 for Oceanside (2-1).

Justin Martin scored a game-high 27 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead Winslow (1-2). Trevor Lovely added 23 points and Dakota Herman 11.

Morse 41, Erskine 26: Ethan Winglass had 17 points as the Shipbuilders beat the Eagles in a KVAC B game in South China.

Chris Paulus added nine points for Morse (3-0), which pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Erskine (0-3) 12-2.

Matt Clary and Jared Gartley each had 10 points for Erskine.

NOKOMIS 48, WATERVILLE 33: Kylee Richards and Hannah Mackenzie had nine points as the Warriors beat the Panthers in a KVAC B game in Waterville.

Kelsie Richards added eight points for Nokomis (3-0).

Colleen O’Donnell had 15 points for Waterville (1-2).

Forest Hills 66, Pine Tree 48: Kori Koro had 24 points and eight steals to lead the Tigers to the Class D win in Jackman.

Anna Carrier had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Forest Hills (3-0).

Alex Goodman, and eighth grader, led Pine Tree (2-1) with 34 points.

Madison 46, Wiscasset 28: Bronte Elias scored 13 points as Madison pulled away in the second half for the Mountain Valley Conference win.

Tylan Onorato led Wiscasset (0-2) with seven points. Madison is now 2-1.

St. Dominic 60, Mt. Abram 26: Kelly Pomerleau scored 18 points to lead the Saints to the MVC win in Salem.

Faith Grady added 13 points for St. Dominic (3-0).

Olivia Ryan scored 15 points for lead Mt. Abram (0-3).

Oceanside 57, Winslow 50: McKenna Brooks scored seven of her 17 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Mariners to the KVAC B win.

Emily Gould added 16 points for Oceanside (2-1).

Liz Pullen and Hannah Dovle each scored 10 points off the bench for Winslow (2-1). Heather Kervin added 12 points.

MORSE 46, ERSKINE 42: Emma Harrington scored 21 points to lead the Shipbuilders to the KVAC B win in Bath.

Morse improves to 1-2.

Erskine (1-2) was led by Mallory Chamberlain with 18 points.

Boys hockey

MESSALONSKEE 8, JOHN BAPST 2: Jared Cunningham had three goals and Dylan Burton had a goal and three assists as the Eagles cruised to a win in Bangor.

Chase Cunningham added a goal and two assists, while Dan Condon had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Nale had three assists for Messalonskee (2-0-0). Dustin Brown and Shane McCann also scored, while Devin Pickett chipped in with an assist. Ben Weeks had 16 saves and Elijah Tuell five for the Eagles.
