BANGOR — Maine State Police have arrested Jason Trickett, a 42-year-old transient, for the theft of a Jeep from Machiasport on Sunday.

Police had issued a warning to the public that Trickett was considered armed and dangerous after he allegedly stole the white Jeep Cherokee, a handgun and several hundred dollars from a Machiasport couple after spending the night at their home on Route 191.

At about 5 a.m. on Monday, the Jeep was spotted in the drive-thru of the Macdonald’s on Broadway in Bangor, police said.

When the Jeep was stopped by police shortly thereafter, Joshua White, 34, of Bangor was in the driver’s seat; Trickett was a passenger. Police said both men were arrested without incident and transported to Penobscot County Jail.
