NEWPORT — Seth McFarland scored 22 points, half on free throws, to lead Gardiner to a 67-62 win against Nokomis in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B basketball game Monday night.

Brad Weston added 13 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for Gardiner (3-3) while Alex LaPointe had 11 points and Ed Weymouth seven rebounds.

Nokomis (0-7) was led by Andrew Cartwright with 23 points, Jake Winslow with 17 and Sam Brown with 11.

Winthrop 46, LISBON 37: Jacob Hickey had 16 points as the Ramblers won the Mountain Valley Conference game in Winthrop.

Matt Sekerak added 11 points, four assists and five steals for Winthrop (5-2).

Tucker Brannon scored 12 points for Lisbon (2-5).

Winslow 71, Erskine 39: Trevor Lovely scored a career-high 37 points to lead the Black Raiders to the KVAC B win in Winslow.

Lovely also had nine steals. Nason Lanphier scored 11 points and had eight assists for Winslow (4-2). Justin Martin had 11 rebounds for the Black Raiders.

Jared Gartley led Erskine (0-6) with 14 points.

Hall-Dale 42, Oak Hill 37: Brian Allen scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC Win in Farmingdale.

Wesley Lapointe added 11 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for Hall-Dale (5-1).

Oak Hill (2-4) was led by Dalton Therrien and Parker Asselin with nine points apiece.

Girls basketball

Cony 62, Mt. Ararat 49: Emily Quirion scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Hayley Quirion added 10 points for Cony (5-2) while Alyssah Dennett and Abby Wormell scored eight apiece.

Mt. Ararat (0-7) was led by Allison Melcher with 22 points.

Medomak Valley 46, Maranacook 35: Justice Barrows scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B win in Readfield.

Hannah Marks added 16 points for Medomak Valley (3-2).

Christine Miller led Maranacook (3-3) with 14 points.

WINSLOW 44, ERSKINE 35: Ciara LeClair had eight points as the Black Raiders won the KVAC B game in South China.

Devin Fitzgibbons and Delaney Wood each added six points for Winslow (5-1).

Mallory Chamberlain had nine points for Erskine (1-5).

Men’s basketball

St. John Fisher College 85, Thomas College 50: Adam Ambielli scored 23 points as St. John Fisher College beat Thomas College in the final game of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament.

The Cardinals (5-4) never trailed and drained 13 3-pointers in the first 27 minutes of the game.

Skowhegan Area High School graduate Levi Barnes had 10 points for Thomas (2-7).
