Recently, I attended a women’s basketball game at Thomas College between Thomas and the visiting University of Maine at Farmington. It would have been a fun event, but the music was so loud I couldn’t even talk loud enough so that the person I was talking to could actually hear me.
If someone in attendance was wearing hearing aids when the extraordinarily loud music came on, it could have further damaged their already impaired ears. During timeouts, even the coaches struggled to communicate with their respective teams over the loud music.
I would recommend the powers that be in charge of the music during Thomas basketball games would keep the music at a reasonable decibel level, because, honestly, there is no reasonable explanation for it to be so loud.
