MADISON — Cristie Vicneire scored 19 points, including 11 of 15 from the free throw line, to lead No. 5 Madison to a 59-48 win against No. 12 Traip Academy in a Western Maine Class C tournament prelim game Tuesday night. Alex Jarvias added 15 points for the Bulldogs while Kirsten Wood grabbed 11 rebounds and had five assists. Kendra Kagiliery led Traip (6-13) with 13 points. Madison (13-6) advances to play No. 4 Old Orchard Beach on Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Class D West

No. 7 VALLEY 54, No. 10 GREENVILLE 46: Jordan Belanger and Teagan Laweryson scored 12 points apiece to lead the Cavaliers to the Class D prelim win in Bingham. The Cavs pulled away in the fourth quarter when Haven Mayhew and Hallie Miller combined for 10 points. Ashley Mace led the Lakers (6-13) with 15 points while teammate Courtney Man added 12. Valley (9-10) advances to play Rangeley at the Augusta Civic Center on Monday.

Class C West

No. 3 CARRABEC 38, No. 14 WISCASSET 26: Mickayla Willette and Jessica Vaillancourt combined for 21 points to lead the Cobras to the win in North Anson. Carrabec led 7-2 at the end of the first quarter and didn’t pull away until the fourth when they outscored the Wolverines 16-9. Willette finished with 11 points while Vaillancourt scored 10, including nine from the free throw line. Alecia Faulkiingham led Wiscasset (6-13) with 12 points. Carrabec (15-4) advances to Tuesday’s quarterfinal round at the Augusta Civic Center where it faces No. 6 Waynflete.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

CMCC 89, UMA 68: Mt. Blue graduate Gabby Foy scored the first 10 points of the game and the Lady Mustangs never looked back in a Yankee Small College Conference game Tuesday.

Foy finished with a game-high 28 points for CMCC (21-1, 13-0) while Madison graduate Samantha Bruce added 15 points.

Richmond graduate Jamie Plummer scored 20 points to lead the Moose while Monmouth grad Jenn Lola and Arreonte Lee each scored 19 points.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

COLBY 101, UMPI 66: Connor O’Neil scored 21 points to go with seven rebounds and six assist to lead the Mules to the non-confernce win in Waterville. Chris Hudnut added 21 points and eight rebounds for Colby (13-9) while Patrick Stewart scored 17 points.

Michael Warner led the University of Maine at Presque Isle (8-14) with 14 points.
