RICHMOND — Forest Boucher scored 18 points and Cameron Jack added 17 to lead No. 9 Islesboro to a 55-47 win against No. 8 Richmond in a Western Maine Class D preliminary round tournament boys basketball game Wednesday night.

Fin Conte added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners, who pulled away with a 15-9 advantage in the second quarter. Matt Holt and Cameron Emmons scored 12 points each for Richmond (9-10) with Holt adding eight rebounds. Islesboro (9-8) advances to play top-seeded Forest Hills in a quarterfinal game Saturday in Augusta.

REGULAR SEASON

KENTS HILL 88, GOULD 26: Daniel Shephard scored 18 points to lead the Huskies to the win in Kents Hill. Trenton SirLouis added 15 points while Tory Brown had 12 points and five assists. Nelkas Kwemo chipped in six points and 11 rebounds for Kents Hill (8-4).

Gould was led by Jules Arsenault with 14 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Class B West

No. 9 YORK 68, No. 8 OAK HILL 44: Shannon Tod scored 20 points and Paige McElwain added 17 to lead the Wildcats past the Raiders in a prelim game. Sadie Goulet paced Oak Hill with 13 points while Bri Mulherin and Hayley Marshall added seven points each. The Raiders (14-5) suffered a serious blow when junior point guard Meagan Crosby broke her leg in the second quarter. York (12-7) advances to play top-seeded Lake Region in a quarterfinal game Tuesday.
