PORTLAND — A man convicted of stealing a 1971 Chevrolet Malibu and driving it from Maine to Missouri is going to spend more than five years in prison.
Sixty-three-year-old Ronald Fuller of Boothbay Harbor was on federal supervised release last spring for a 1998 firearms conviction when he was arrested in Missouri for stealing the car.
He was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District in Portland to 16 months imprisonment for transporting a stolen vehicle and an additional four years of imprisonment for violating conditions of his release.
Federal court documents say Fuller pleaded guilty to the stolen vehicle offence as well as violating the conditions of his release.
