The Strong Town Meeting has been rescheduled from this Saturday to March 22.
Joan Reed, chairwoman of the Board of Selectmen, said the board made amendments and approved the warrant outside of an official board meeting, and the Maine Municipal Association attorneys advised that the Town Meeting be rescheduled. Also, elections have been moved from Friday to March 21.
The MMA told the board that because it did not sign the warrant at an official meeting, the original warrant may not count under Maine law.
The new warrant will be approved by selectmen at an official board meeting and be posted publicly after March 11, Reed said.
Elections will be scheduled for 1 to 6 p.m. March 21 at the Forster Memorial Building. The business meeting to ratify the articles will start at 9:30 a.m. March 22.
