COLCHESTER, Vt. — The following local high school students were awarded the 2013 Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience: Michael Dempski, of Oakland, a student at Saint Dominic Academy; Allison Fischang, of Oakland, a student at Messalonskee High School; Nathaniel Lombardi, of Winslow, a student at Winslow High School; Olivia Lopes and Todd Serbent, of Waterville, students at Waterville Senior High School; Brennah O’Connell, of Winslow, a student at Winslow High School; Daniel Reed, of Farmington, a student at Mount Blue High School. Jacob Smith, of Sidney, a student at Messalonskee High School; and Shelby Watson of Skowhegan, a student at Skowhegan Area High School.
