PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — The Memorial Bridge that connects New Hampshire and Maine is closing overnights for a week to continue adjustments.
The bridge will be off-limits to cars, bikes and pedestrians from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. every night from Sunday through Friday.
The closure is needed to continue the work on final adjustments on the new bridge, which have been slowed due to the winter weather conditions.
The new, $81 million Memorial Bridge from Portsmouth to Kittery opened last August. It replaced one that opened in 1923 and closed for two years in July 2011 so the replacement project could get underway.
