HALLOWELL — Maine Gov. Paul LePage will discuss the state’s energy policy at a forum with lawmakers, business leaders and environmentalists.

The Republican governor is expected to address the Environmental and Energy Technology Council of Maine’s forum on Thursday in Hallowell.

Energy experts and stakeholders will discuss regional energy infrastructure initiatives. They will also provide an update on the effort to expand natural gas capacity in New England.

In January, New England’s governors announced a regional effort to shore up natural gas supplies to deliver enough electricity to meet rising demand this winter and serve 1.2 million to 3.6 million homes. They also asked ISO-New England, the system operator, to devise a way to finance the project.
