Emery receives dean’s honors

BIDDEFORD — Andrew Emery, son of Robert and Donna Emery of Winthrop, has been named to the fall 2013 semester dean’s list at the University of New England.

A 2010 graduate of Winthrop High School, Emery is a medical biology major. He is also actively involved at the university in golf, pre-dental club, and the International Medical Missions Club.

Martin receives dean’s list honors

WATERVILLE — Brandon E. Martin, of Pittston, a business administration major at Thomas College, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

Martin is a graduate of Gardiner Area High School. He is the son of Ernie and Sharon Martin of Pittston.

Tufts University honors local student

MEDFORD, Mass. — Benjamin Barnes, of Readfield, Maine, has been named to the fall 2013 semester dean’s list at Tufts University.

Brackett, of Vassalboro, earns academic honors

WORCESTER, Mass. — Amanda E. Brackett, of Vassalboro, Maine, has been named to first honors on the Clark University dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

PORTLAND — Paige LaPointe, daughter of Debbie LaPointe of West Gardiner, has been named to the fall 2013 semester dean’s list at the University of New England.

A 2011 graduate of Gardiner Area High School, LaPointe is a molecular biology major.

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. — Samantha Herrick, of Mount Vernon, Maine, was named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at Wake Forest University.

Brechner, of Belgrade, studying abroad

CANTON, N.Y. — Reid S. Brechner, of Belgrade, Maine, is participating in St. Lawrence University’s Study Abroad Program for the spring 2014 semester. Brechner, a member of the class of 2015, graduated from the Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

names dean’s students

COLCHESTER, Vt. — Three local students have been named to the fall 2013 semester dean’s list at Saint Michael’s College.

• Loren M. Lachapelle, daughter of Timothy Lachapelle of Litchfield, is a senior business administration major. She is a graduate of Edward Little High School.

• Lauren M. McHatten, daughter of Clifford and Lynn McHatten of Winthrop, is a senior psychology major. She is a graduate of Winthrop High School.

• Tracy A. Stevenson, daughter of David and Hazel Stevenson of Wayne, is a senior physics and secondary education major. She is a graduate of Kents Hill School.

Jones, of Chelsea, named to dean’s list

PORTLAND — Morgan Jones, daughter of Bill and Lisa Jones of Chelsea, has been named to the fall 2013 semester dean’s list at the University of New England.

A 2011 graduate of Cony High School, Jones is majoring in nursing. She is vice president of the Student Nurses Association and volunteers in the community.

Blanchette named to dean’s list

CANTON, N.Y. — Kyle P. Blanchette, of Dresden, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester at St. Lawrence University. Blanchette, a member of the class of 2014, is majoring in history and English. He graduated from Hall-Dale High School.

Hodgdon named to dean’s list

PORTLAND — Cameron Hodgdon, son of Tracy Northrup of Damariscotta, has been named to the fall 2013 semester dean’s list at the University of New England.

A 2013 graduate of Lincoln Academy, Hodgdon is a marine biology major. He is also actively involved at the universiyt in the Math Club and ultimate frisbee.

Reny, of Gardiner, receives honors

HARTFORD, Conn. — Olivia Reny of Gardiner, Maine, a member of the class of spring, 2016 at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., has received faculty honors for the 2013 fall semester.
