Lauren Bowring, from Waterville, plans to volunteeron the IVHQ Ghana Orphanage volunteer program for 24 weeks starting in September. IVHQ is an international volunteer organization working in more than 20 countries that sends thousands of volunteers abroad annually. Established in 2007, the program works with hundreds of different projects through Africa, Asia and Latin America. Bowring will spend 24 weeks on the Ghana Orphanage program working with other volunteers from all over the world. Bowring is working hard to ensure she can raise sufficient funds for her program fees, airfares, travel insurance and vaccinations.
