FARMINGDALE — Taylor Lockhart’s three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning propelled Hall-Dale to a 4-3 win against Mt. Abram in Mountain Valley Conference baseball action Friday.

The Roadrunners had taken a 3-1 lead in the top of the inning on a two-run homer from Arthur Ryan, who also singled, before Lockhart answered with a blast over the fence in left center. Quinn Stebbins singled twice for Hall-Dale (5-5) while winning pitcher Brian Allen allowed five hits and struck out 11. Mt. Abram is 3-7.

MARANACOOK 2, LEAVITT 1: Skylar Webb pitched a complete game three-hitter and struck out three to lead the Black Bears to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win in Readfield. Cam Brochu had what proved to be the game-winning RBI in Maranacook’s two-run second inning. Maranacook is 5-5, Leavitt is 3-6.

MONMOUTH 12, MADISON 0, 5 innings: Brandon Goff had three hits to help the Mustangs impove to 8-1 with the MVC win in Monmouth.

Alex Curtis and D.J. McHugh each drove in two runs for Monmouth.

Cody Soucier doubled and Chase Malloy singled for Madison (2-8).

CONY 8. MT. ARARAT 1: Three pitchers combined on a four-hitter for the Rams, who won the KVAC A game in Topsham. Starter John Jensen got the win with relief from Justin Rodrigue and Casey Bancroft. Tayler Carrier belted a two-run homer for Cony (4-6) while Reid Shotak tripled, singled twice and scored three times. Connor Perry contributed a double and three singles for Cony.

WINTHROP 8, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 7: Drew Stratton had three hits to help the Ramblers take the MVC win in Livermore Falls.

Dakota Carter had two hits for Winthrop (5-4), while Bennett Brooks earned the win in relief.

Bedley Hodges had three hits for Spruce Mountain (4-5).

SOFTBALL

CONY 9, Mt. ARARAT 2: The Rams broke the game open with five runs in the top of the sixth inning on their way to the KVAC A victory in Topsham.

Cony pitcher Arika Brochu fired a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts. The Rams (9-1) had 13 hits, including three apiece by Alyssah Dennett and Olivia Deeves. Kassidy Turgeon and Maggie Russell each had three RBIS, while Delaney Keithley added two hits.

Mt. Ararat is 2-7.

OXFORD HILLS 8, MESSALONSKEE 4: The Vikings scored seven unearned runs in the first two innings and held on for the KVAC A win in South Paris.

Anna Kahkonen and Shannon Fillebrown each singled twice for Oxford Hills (7-3).

Messalonskee (5-4) had 10 hits. Kylee Knight, Taylor Easler and Kirsten Pelletier had two apiece.

HALL-DALE 6, MT. ABRAM 2: The Bulldogs scored six runs in the fifth inning en route to the MVC win in Farmingdale. Emily Maynard led the Bulldogs with a pair of base hits while teammate Kayla Johnson added a two run single. Winning pitcher Becca Ackerson struck out seven for Hall-Dale (8-2). Kaite Jordan recorded six strikeouts in taking the loss and added an RBI triple. Mt. Abram is 2-8.

GARDINER 7, ERSKINE 1: Brittany Rollins struck out 13 and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Tigers to the KVAC B win in Gardiner. Bri Brochu and Lauren Chadwick each singled and doubled for Gardiner (10-0). Avery Bond singled and doubled for Erskine (2-8).

BOYS LACROSSE

GARDINER 7, NYA 4: Josh Caldwell and Jake Truman scored three goals apiece to lead the Tigers to the Class B win against North Yarmouth Academy in Gardiner. Wes Bright scored twice for the Panthers. J.D. Crocker made 23 saves in goal for Gardiner (5-2) while D.J Nichols made seven for NYA (1-5).

GIRLS LACROSSE

KENNEBUNK 19, MESSALONSKEE 9: Jenny Bush and Kyra Schwartzman scored six goals apiece to lead the Rams to the win in Kennebunk. Sydney Gagne led the Eagles with three goals and two assists while Ally Fischang added three goals and Mikayla Turner three assists. Nathalie St. Pierre, Kristen Kern and Lucy Guarnieri scored single goals for Messalonskee (4-2) while goalie Gaby Languet made 11 saves. Bella Kudas made six saves for Kennebunk (6-1).
